Lynda Garcia was raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She attended New Mexico State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with an endorsement in Language Arts in 2009. Her experience gained as an elementary school librarian, and passion to tell stories, led her to attend Sacred Heart University (SHU) in Fairfield, Connecticut. She obtained her master’s degree in Corporate Communications and Public Relations in 2014.

During her time at SHU, Lynda was involved in launching the first Emergency Reserve Corps at a University in the United States. Since then, she has worked on significant nonprofit and government grant funded projects including the Doña Ana County cradle to career education initiative, Success Partnership. In 2022 she became a coordinator to increase the Community Health Worker workforce and provide Covid-19 trainings.
